BIG News !!

I alluded the other day to our latest project, and it's official now so I want to share...we put our house on the market today.

Our house is awesome and we have done a ton of improvements, but we found another home that we love.  We can't afford two mortgages (really, who can?), so if you or someone you know wants to buy our home...wink wink. No seriously though, email me if you want further information at bluegrasslove@gmail.com because I would be thrilled.
Here are quite a few of the listing pictures of our ole home sweet home. It's a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home that is walking distance to a great park  and in one of the best school districts in Lexington. It's had a new roof, new HVAC system, remodeled kitchen, remodeled downstairs bath, replaced all the flooring in the home, built a deck and patio, and been professionally landscaped in the few years we've had it:

Thankful Thursday

1. Tuesday and Wednesday are over.  Between class, a dentist appointment, finishing my law journal articles, preparing an opening speech, going to a prison interview for our Innocence Project case, and interviewing and selecting a new editorial board for journal, my Tuesday was a 16 hour day and my Wednesday was non-stop 19.5 (yes, nineteen and a half) hour day--in heels. Needless to say, my feet and I are exhausted and ready for a long cat nap. It is clearly a sweats-and-hat kind of day. That said, though...

 2. We have an new editorial board.  Frankly, journal often consumes my life, so I'm very excited to be near the end of that road.  Once we train the new board and finish our final edits, I'll be free! Plus, I think they will do a great job together--we'll be leaving the journal in good hands.

3. Making headway in Innocence Project. We have done a ton of witness interviewing and feel as though our case is still progressing.  Plus, we finally got our client interview approved, so hopefully that will be a very insightful meeting.

4. About a month...until we are in South America! I CANNOT wait.

 5. No Cavities. I loathe going to the dentist. I loathe everything about the dentist when I'm there; the awkwardness of people in my mouth, the sound of teeth cleaning, the taste of the fluoride--everything. So, I am super thankful for no cavities because I definitely don't wanna go back anytime soon.

What are ya'll thankful for?

It's Magic...You Know...

I bought a Magic Eraser (extra power) today after seeing so many great reviews on it from friends.  Seriously...the little bugger is a miracle.

I have already scrubbed away spots on the walls and scuffs on the baseboards.  It didn't take grease off the stove, but I'm still impressed that I don't have to use touch up paint.
Plus, for $3 for 2, you can't go wrong.

Weekend Hodgepodge

Hello lovelys, hope ya'll had a great weekend and are staying out of this snow. Here's our weekend recap. All images are thanks to Google images.

On Friday night we went to Table Three Ten with Cam's brother and his girlfriend. We loved the atmosphere of the place: it has exposed, vintage hardwood floor ceilings, exposed brick and concrete, and a general vintage industrial feel.  It had a really "big city" vibe to it, but was still dark and romantic. We had dinner reservations at 8:30, so we waited at the bar for our table and ordered a bottle of wine.  The wine was superb--I believe it was called the cab-sav Espalt and it was delicious.  At 9, we double checked with the manager (who apparently may be a co-owner as well) on our table.  He informed that "because we made late dinner reservations, we would have to wait."  This left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, but he reassured us that it would not be long at all.  At 9:30, we mentioned to the bartender that we had reservations for an hour ago and were getting sick of waiting.  He was very pleasant and comped us a round of beers and checked on our table.  We were finally seated at 9:50. Moral of story: dinner reservations may not mean much here.  In Table Three Ten's defense, they did offer to comp us dessert once we were seated.  However, they ran out of dessert, so they comped us martinis instead. Also, everyone else I know who has been has said they didn't have to wait very long, so maybe our situation was the anomaly.

Now to the food: thank goodness we were told to eat before we went and had small dinner.  The menu was pretty limited and its tapas style.  We ordered the chef's selection of cheese and of the meat for the four of us.  It was the perfect amount of food for us and it was delicious.

Summary: it would be a great place to go to for drinks, appetizers, or a bottle of wine. Otherwise, eat  a small meal before you go.  The atmosphere is very "big city romantic"--i.e., you forget you are in Lexington.  Even if you have a reservation, be prepared to wait.

On Saturday, I drove to South/Western Kentucky to interview a witness for the Innocence Project. We passed this monstrosity on the way, and I was so intrigued.   No, that is not the Washington Monument.  It is the Jefferson Davis Memorial Park.  I am a little miffed that our state would have a ridiculously large (i.e. expensive) monument and state park to commemorate the President of the Confederacy when our Lincoln memorial is so small in comparison (interesting FYI for those non-Kentuckians: both Lincoln and Davis were born in KY).  But whatever, I should realize I am in the south. Who knew this thing even existed.  Saddest part is that the locals kept telling us that Davis was the president of the US. Maybe we should spend less money on the monument and more on our education system...

Also, if you happen to go that way,  DO. NOT. EVER. stop at the Tumbleweed in Madisonville. We stopped there for lunch and we all had a mild case of food poisoning. Plus, the food was wrenched. Live and learn...

Yesterday we had a relaxing day: church, cleaning around the house, and watched the super bowl.  We spent the majority of the day looking into some possibly exciting news, so we will keep you posted :)

Now, off to Zumba and a "butts and guts" workout, haha! My night litigation class just got cancelled so I can go to the Junior League Meeting tonight now--pretty excited!

Frida Confessions: Don't Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful

1. I have Pretty Girl Rock stuck in my head from Zumba.  In fact, it's so bad that yesterday I was prancing around the kitchen doing Zumba moves while singing this song outloud.  Cam walked in, started busting out laughing and asked, "Why are you booty popping and singing to yourself?" It's so bad that he began laughing this morning to himself and I asked why. Of course he says, "I was just thinking about you dancing around yesterday." Hater.

 2. I am debating going to three workout classes today because I am so incredibly bored sitting at the library, my friends are going, and I have delusions of what women's bodies can look like from VS.  Talk about giving into peer pressure--my abs are still sore from Wednesday...

3. ...But I probably need to go to the workout classes because I had 4 (yes, four) pieces of pizza for lunch. Worst part--I'm still hungry. I'm pretty sure this would not be in the Angel's meal plan.

4. I found $94.14 in spare change around the house.  Now, if only I can find my eyeglasses...

5. Cam found our dream home today on LBar.  We are really bad about looking at houses in our hopefully future neighborhood and falling in love.  I am a total real estate stalker... Today's lust:

6. Going to a new restaurant tonight: Table 310. I've been excited all day because I love to try out new places around town.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend. Off to go work off **hopefully** at least one of those slices over the next three hours...le sigh.

Wordless Wednesday: Awwww..

Okay, okay, the part where she kisses the dog is a little softcore puppy porn for me, but its still an adorable dog...

My Body's too Zumbalicious...

I went to my first work out class this past Friday since...gulp...at least 5 years ago.  I wasn't kidding when I said I loathe working out.  I agreed to go to Zumba with some friends and wasn't exactly sure what to expect.  I had done ballet, jazz, and cheered in high school.  Let's not forget my mad Greek Sing dance skills in Theta (haha), so clearly I figured it can't be too much of a stretch.

Let me just say, Zumba is not your mother's dance class. Be prepared to channel your inner-coordinated-ghetto-self and to do some booty pops and shimmies to girly dance beats: Justin Bieber...check. Katy Perry...check. Whip My Hair and Shots...check and check.  At first I felt like I was at some sort of sober club with a bunch of white girls trying to break it down.  But, it was really fun and freeing when I just let loose.  Plus, it was a legit work out--I broke a sweat within 15 minutes of being there and my inner thighs were sore Saturday.  I even managed to work out my face by laughing so hard at the lone (asian) boy in the middle of the room of about 75-100 women trying to get down to Pretty Girl Rock.  His moves only consisted of waving his hands above his head--regardless of what everyone else was doing.   Awesome.  I plan on going three times a week now.

Another Zumba plus: I learned some awesome moves for the malpractice mixer that I went to later Friday night.  The mixer was basically a way for  the law, med, dental, and pharmacy students to together for drinks.  My bestie is in med school and one of my close friends is in dental so it was great to meet some of their school friends.  Plus, the evening ended with some late-night Goodfellas pizza--does it get any better than that?

Other than that, the weekend was pretty quiet and productive. I had brunch with some law school girls on Saturday morning and then worked on my Innocence Project case in the afternoon while my wonderful husband cleaned up the yard and washed the cars (I know, he is the best).  We cheered on the Cats and then just relaxed Saturday night.

On Sunday we cleaned out the closets around the house.  For a chore I usually dread (and thus don't do), it was well worth it.  I found baby/childhood pictures of my dad that I forgot I had, a really nice Bose ipod system that was just hanging out in storage, and my jewelry box full of tons of jewelry that I thought was lost forever.  I was so incredibly excited with all my finds! Last night we had Cam's brother and his girlfriend over for family dinner.
