Friday Confessions

At least it was all black unlike this awesomeness above..
1. I forgot tennis shoes and workout pants on Monday, so I did Zumba in my socks and leggings. Keepin' it classy.

2. My biggest pet peeve is when skinny people say they need to lose weight or need to diet.  Stop being so insecure and love the person you are! Working out and eating veggies should be to promote a healthy lifestyle, not to starve yourself and then burn off those few calories you do eat.  I seriously wonder about what our society is making us become..

This little girl is only 4...
3. I saw TLC's Toddler's and Tiaras for the first time this week.  Oh. M. Gee. This was totally like a trainwreck--I just couldn't look away.  I don't mind pageants, I just mind pageants that steal children's innocence by trying to make them into 20 year olds.
or dressing your toddler up as Madonna...
Plus, the show kept bringing back memories of the creepiness of Jon Benet Ramsey. I can only imagine TLC will have a show about their eating disorders and insecurities in 15 years. Needless to say, it absolutely reconfirmed that my future children (both boy and girl) will be in team sports.
4. One of my favorite hair products is Psssst Dry Shampoo for blonde hair.  When I wake up late (or am just too lazy to get in the shower), it really is a lifesaver.

5. I had a nightmare this week when I refreshed the MLS listing of the house I want, it said "pending."  I immediately drove by the house and Rajon Rondo had bought it and was building a giant basketball court with a Celtics logo (and complete with the Celtic's floor) in the backyard.  I was impressed to be meeting Rondo, but I instantly hated him for stealing my dream house. I immediately woke up and refreshed the listing to ensure it was just a dream. I am rather obsessed with selling this house.
6. I LOVE basically every vegetable, but I think brussel sprouts and asparagus are my favorite.  I made teryaki brussel sprouts last night--delish! I know, I know, I'm super weird.
7. I've quit reading for class.  It's just been a week, but that is the beginning of the end for reading.  This weekend needs some intervention to get me back into the groove of being a student.
8. I jump every time the phone rings, but I am slightly disappointed that it is not someone wanting to come look at the house.  It's kind of pathetic.

Frida Confessions: Don't Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful

1. I have Pretty Girl Rock stuck in my head from Zumba.  In fact, it's so bad that yesterday I was prancing around the kitchen doing Zumba moves while singing this song outloud.  Cam walked in, started busting out laughing and asked, "Why are you booty popping and singing to yourself?" It's so bad that he began laughing this morning to himself and I asked why. Of course he says, "I was just thinking about you dancing around yesterday." Hater.

 2. I am debating going to three workout classes today because I am so incredibly bored sitting at the library, my friends are going, and I have delusions of what women's bodies can look like from VS.  Talk about giving into peer pressure--my abs are still sore from Wednesday...

3. ...But I probably need to go to the workout classes because I had 4 (yes, four) pieces of pizza for lunch. Worst part--I'm still hungry. I'm pretty sure this would not be in the Angel's meal plan.

4. I found $94.14 in spare change around the house.  Now, if only I can find my eyeglasses...

5. Cam found our dream home today on LBar.  We are really bad about looking at houses in our hopefully future neighborhood and falling in love.  I am a total real estate stalker... Today's lust:

6. Going to a new restaurant tonight: Table 310. I've been excited all day because I love to try out new places around town.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend. Off to go work off **hopefully** at least one of those slices over the next three hours...le sigh.

Friday Confessions

Hello! Here are moi's Friday confessions, PinkLouLou style.

1. I wear house slippers--everywhere. I mean for real, they have rubber soles, which clearly means they are shoes that are just mislabeled. Another plus: they do NOT look like these:
But rather, I wear these ultra warm, ultra fuzzy moccasin style ones:

Again, note the rubber sole. See, all okay to wear out in public, right?

2. For whatever reason, I just can't get myself out of bed this semester. My first class isn't until 12 (or 2 on some days), so I've been sleeping until at least 9 (read--at least 10) almost every day. Those days I don't sleep in I've been so tired in the afternoon that I come home and take a long nap. Pathetic.  But, I was semi-okay with it because it's my last real time to sleep in.

But now, I have been becoming an insomniac at night and then crashing during the day...I have got to quit this...

4. I do not work out. Never. Ever. I'm not opposed, I'm just that lazy.
I am going to a Zumba class with friends this afternoon because, what girl doesn't like to dance around?  When they mentioned that they sweat and felt sore, I almost backed out.  But, I'm gonna suck it up and see if I like it because ladies, I confess that I need to get back into shape.

5. Cam almost fell out of his chair last night because I not only cooked dinner, I drank water and told him about the above-mentioned Zumba class.
This reconfirmed my need to be healthier and get back into shape.

6. Second confirmation: I had a dream last night about graduation. BUT, it didn't involve me getting a diploma or anything--it was a true dilemma. There was a candy bar there, but you could only get one piece of candy.
I wanted sour patch kids and chocolate--what to do, what to do? I wish I was kidding.  Clearly, I am a fat girl stuck inside a skinny person's body who is just waiting to get out.

7. This said, I have the most vivid dreams of anyone I know.  My second dream (i.e., the one after I was awake from 3 to 6ish) was that I was lounging in a cabana at our honeymoon hotel/resort, but it was my grandparent's private home.
 Clearly, our honeymoon was paradise.
I woke up because I felt my face getting sunburned.  I legit woke up with a really hot face and was sweating.  Most of all, I was disappointed to be in my own bed and not in Mexico.

8. But, I am still laying in my own bed, still cuddling my pup at 10:30. I am a  BUM who was GOT to get motivated...
Not my bed, but doesn't it look comfy?!

Friday Confessions: Finals

Finals is probably the only time when I'm not thanking God its Friday, haha! So, here are some confessions, finals style.

1. During finals I almost never get dressed for the day unless I have to go out in public. Even then, it's pretty thrown together.  I sit around in my PJs all day for these two weeks.

2. I am cleaner during finals than any other time of my life.  Nothing beats stress like a bubble bath, so I often take 2-3 hour long baths a day while going over index cards and outlines. This is probably necessary because I remain covered in highlighter for these two weeks.

3. I plan my whole semester around finals.  I have taken classes merely because they have papers instead of a final, and if I'm on the fence between two classes, I'll take the one that fits in better to my finals schedule.  Basically, I plan to ensure I have the minimal amount of stress possible.  I even have planned next semester so that I only have two (as in 2) finals (which sounds AMAZING right now).

4. I honestly didn't know stress until law school.  I had been in stressful situations, but nothing like law school--not even the time I thought my house was being broken into (it was just a repairman my parents forgot to tell me about).  I had the first panic attack of my life during the spring semester of my first year, and unfortunately it was not my last.  I tend to lose about 7-12 pounds during finals from stress: I can't keep food down and I have no appetite.  Before one final, I even got sick from just brushing my teeth. I'm pathetic.

5. Finals have brought me closer to God.  It has made me pray more and be more thankful for what He has given me.  I will admit (it is Friday Confessions, right) that one semester I sat in church and continually pleaded with God to let me survive finals. I tried to barter that if I lived through my tax exam, I would make an extra effort to go to church every week.  He answers prayers: I passed tax with flying colors and have been a regular at church since.

6. Contrary to popular belief, third year is not easier than the first two.  Yes, first year they scare you to death, second year they work you to death, but third year is a continuation of year two.  I honestly think the only difference is by third year you stop caring as much (hence why I am blogging and not studying right now).

7. Despite how much we (or I) complain, finals are not the most difficult questions in the world, its just a lot of memorization.  Yes, there is a lot of pressure on the us because they are the only grades we get for an entire class, but I've never walked into an exam and not known what the professor was asking.  The difficulty is trying to distinguish your exam answers from your classmates because it is graded on a curve.

Well, I better go study.  First exam is Tuesday, and I'll try to post to let you all know that (if) I survived.  I heard the exam is extremely difficult (he tends to mix many concepts into one question with convoluted facts), so keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers please.  At least this time in two weeks, I'll be all done!

Hope you all have better weekend plans than I do!

Friday Hodgepodge

So, today is absolutely a hodgepodge.

First, CONGRATS to everyone who passed the bar!

Now, for Friday confessions.

1) If I could go back in time, I think I would want to go to the 1950s and be a housewife.  Not because I'd make a good housewife (let's be honest, I'd be awful), it's because I adore the fashion.

Does it shock anyone else that this says, "size 12 bust 32 hip 34"? Wow.

2) I tend to wear my hair down all the time only because I don't know to to do anything else with it.

3) Is there any bigger confidence booster than a good hair day and a strand of pearls?
NEXT: Eight Questions. Tiffany was sweet enough to tag me in this game where you answer eight questions she wrote, you come up with eight questions, and then tag eight people to answer your questions. So, here are the eight I was tagged to answer:

1. What state do you live in?
The great state of Kentucky.

2. Does your family read your blog?
Yes, both C's and my family reads my blog.  It's a big reason behind why I blog--to update our family of our daily occurrences.

3. Where do you go on vacation?
We like to travel different places. Some of our favorite are Europe (especially Zurich, Munich and Vienna), Charleston, and Playacar Mexico (where we honeymooned).

4. What kind of music do you like?
I like almost any kind of music.  I tend to listen to country, classic rock or K-Love in the car (I like something I can sing along with), Citizen Cope around the house, soft rock contemporary or classical when I study, and modern top 40 when I am in a dancing or girly mood.

5. How many brothers/sisters do you have?
I have one half-sister, Ang, and two stepsisters.

Ang and I in Hawaii (ages 4 and 11). Love you!

6. What do you want for your birthday?
Hmm...my birthday isn't for a while, so I haven't really thought about it.  But, I guess would always love a shopping trip (ahem, C).  Or, an iPhone.  I think I may be the last person on earth without a smart phone, and its time to get out of the dark ages.  A Haan steam mop and floor sanitizer would also be pretty awesome.

7. Have you ever met any celebrities, is so who?
Hmm...I've seen plenty of celebrities at Derby, but I don't go up and talk to them.  I've met Hulk Hogan in an elevator (when I was five, but I still remember he being huge).  Pretty exciting life, I know.

I also hosted Ben McKenzie for an event on campus. Embarrassingly, when they asked me to do it I had no idea who he was and had to Google him.  Fail.   He was extremely nice and down to earth though.

8. Do you have "date night" with your husband?
We don't really call it "date" night every week, but we try to do something fun together every week.  We also set aside at least one hour a week for "us time," where we are not allowed to have any distractions and just spend time together.

Here are the eight I am writing.  I'm too tired to tag people--whoever wants to answer them can play along!  The more the merrier:

1. What DIY project are you most proud of? Share pictures.
2. What are you most afraid of?
3. Why do you blog?
4. What color lipstick do you wear?
5. What's your favorite go-to recipe?
6. What's your favorite place to go (or thing to do) for a cheap date?
7. How many children do you want? Do you have a gender preference or names picked?
8. What is your favorite fashion trend/look for the fall?

Whew.  This has been one big ramble, sorry it's hard to follow.  Hope you all have a good weekend and, as always, GO CATS!

Friday Confessions

I decided to join in the fun this week, Pink Lou Lou style. My confessions are not nearly as entertaining as Allie's, but it's my first attempt, okay?
1. I am such a nerd that I ordered our Christmas cards this week.  I justify it by saying that they are on sale now and will take up to three weeks to get here, but deep down I know it's just my way of trying to hurry along Christmas (and thus the end of the semester).

2. I seriously debated buying mace because of these five armed robberies around campus this week, but then I realized I already own mace. Then I stopped to wonder what mace would do to stop a gun anyway, so the mace will stay in the drawer.

3. I don't think there is anything a bubble bath can't cure.  Sometimes, I take a bubble bath (or two) a day.

4. I know it's delusional, but I am still hoping the Cats can pull out the upset against Florida.  And I partially believe it.

5. I am in my mid-twenties and am just now realizing you can't make everyone like you, and sometimes you will just have to live with that.
6. I am more excited about TLC's new show on Sunday, Sister Wives, than I should ever be.

7. I may or may not have had a glass of wine while watching Grey's Anatomy last night and skimming the Criminal Procedure. Hey--at least I read (er, skimmed).

8. I'm already sick and tired of the political commercials, and they have only been on for a few days.  I have a B.A. in political science--I think this is why I am sick of them.
